Street Outreach

In February 2010, Life House began our new Street Outreach Program. Prior to program activities, Life House staff attended specialized trainings on providing quality street outreach services in our community. During the first two months, Life House staff walked the streets while discussing with local businesses and community members the importance of street outreach, and encouraging youth to speak with their peers about Life House services and programs.

Today, Life House has effectively raised awareness among local businesses and organizations of our new Street Outreach services. Moving forward, our focus is to locate homeless youth within the Duluth community, build trusting relationships with street kids so they are comfortable visiting the Youth Drop-in Center or other emergency services, and connecting homeless youth to our on-site supportive services including S.O.S.classes, Housing Services, Futures Education and Employment Program, and KATS Program for positive health.
